Taste of the Upstate Returns as an In-Person Fundraiser

GREENVILLE, SC (May 18, 2021)— After many years of social distancing and gathering virtually, Loaves & Fishes’ annual fundraiser is back in person to celebrate a newfound sense of international connectedness and give guests not only a “Taste of the Upstate,” but also a sample of the Flavors of the World.     On Sunday, May 22, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Zen in downtown Greenville, guests can expect to enjoy small bites of international cuisine, a silent auction and local art auction, and a live performance from the Greenville Jazz Collective. Charity walk to benefit hunger-fighting efforts locally and abroad

GREENVILLE, SC (March 7, 2022) — Church World Service (CWS) hosts Upstate CROP Hunger Walk in Greenville annually to help eradicate hunger and poverty in our community and around the world through sustainable initiatives. A portion of the funds raised through the Upstate CROP Hunger Walk will benefit Loaves & Fishes (L&F), a local food rescue organization in Greenville County. CROP Hunger Walks across the country raised over $6 million for hunger relief initiatives in 2021. The 2021 Upstate walk had its’ best year ever in its 35-year history, raising over $24,500, with all participant-raised funds directly benefit CWS and L&F. Loaves & Fishes Receives Food & Funds from Dixon Hughes Goodman LLC GREENVILLE, SC (July 26, 2018) – Dixon Hughes Goodman has made a tremendous impact on the food rescue scene in Greenville County. The local Certified Public Accountants and Advisors have donated more than $11,000 and 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food to Loaves & Fishes as part of their corporate Count the Cans campaign. They were joined in their efforts by Dixon Hughes Goodman offices across twelve states. Greenville Community Helps Fund Food Rescue Truck

GREENVILLE, SC (September 17, 2018) – Loaves & Fishes is Greenville’s food rescue organization that is solely responsible for rescuing 2.3 million pounds of food in 2017 and delivering it to nearly 100 agencies feeding the hungry in our Greenville community. They do all of this with a fleet of three trucks and have recently replaced their aging produce truck thanks to generous community partners. In May, Loaves & Fishes was awarded $50,000 by Greenville Women Giving, which contributed to the fleet replacement project, but they still needed $20,000 to cover the remainder of the replacement truck.
